MusicSPBS's Band and String Orchestra are the realization of the great artistic potential of our students. Our Music students work hard with the intention of learning and getting better in this important art. During the year Band and String Orchestra students are invited to become part of the official activities where they constantly demonstrate their passion for music. They also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities representing our school.

Music electives in Band and String Orchestra are introduced to our students in the 6th grade. The theory and appreciation of Music involves other disciplines including mathematics, history, theatre and literature. Children are able to appreciate the greatness of music, their ability to interpret stories, as they evoke feelings and take us to other places in the world, cultures and historical periods.

Your child does not have to be a virtuoso in order to enjoy the study of music. Music education improves skills in other academic areas and their daily practice helps to develop discipline, time management, physical coordination and emotional intelligence.
